These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of CharlesHartmann.com (the “site”), run by Charles Hartmann (“I”, “me”). By using the site you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Using the site
You may browse, read and share links to the site for personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don’t misuse it: no attempts to break, overload, scrape at scale or gain unauthorized access to the site or its server, no spam or abusive messages through the contact forms, and nothing illegal.
Content and intellectual property
Unless noted otherwise, the text, images, logos, app names and other content on the site belong to Charles Hartmann / Hartmann Studios / Homelab the Right Way and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may quote short excerpts with a link back. Command examples and code snippets in tutorials may be used in your own projects. Third-party names and trademarks belong to their owners.
Tutorials, guides and apps: no warranty
Homelab, networking and security guides, ebooks, videos and podcast episodes are shared for general information and education. They are not professional advice. Systems differ, so back up your data and test changes before you rely on them. You follow any instructions at your own risk.
Apps from Hartmann Studios are distributed through Google Play and are covered by Google Play’s terms and each app’s own privacy policy. The site, its content and the apps are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Ads, affiliate links and purchases
The site shows third-party ads (Google AdSense, A-ADS) and contains affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. I may earn a commission when you buy through a link, at no extra cost to you. I don’t control advertisers or third-party products and I’m not responsible for them. Ebooks (Payhip), merch (Printful) and support payments (Buy Me a Coffee) are handled by those providers under their own terms.
Third-party links
The site links to other websites and services (YouTube, RedCircle, Google Play, social networks and others). I’m not responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Charles Hartmann will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of the site, its content or the apps. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.

How information is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
Changes
I may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York.
